Rylee Copeland

About
Rylee is originally from Tallahassee, Florida, and now resides in the beautiful and historic city of Charleston, South Carolina. She earned her undergraduate degree in English from Florida State University, where she also double minored in General Business and Political Science, before attending Charleston School of Law.
From high school through law school, Rylee gained diverse legal experience working in firms across several practice areas, including health care and insurance law, personal injury, mass torts and class actions, and real estate law. She ultimately found her passion in estate planning, estate administration, and family law. During law school, Rylee served on the executive board of Phi Alpha Delta, where her chapter was recognized for outstanding community service in the Tri-County area. She also broadened her perspective by studying abroad in the Netherlands, where she was able to explore cultural and legal differences firsthand.
Rylee’s decision to focus on family law was deeply shaped by both her professional and personal experiences. Her internship with the Honorable Judge Alice Anne Richter through the Judicial Observation Experience Program in 2022 opened her eyes to the critical need in this area of law. On a personal level, her father’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis in 2021 further strengthened her resolve to support families navigating some of life’s most difficult challenges. She believes family is the foundation of our communities and is passionate about helping others through legal disputes, estate planning, or transitional life events with compassion and care.
Outside of work, Rylee enjoys being outdoors—whether on the water, hiking, or playing soccer. At home, she loves reading, cooking, and playing tug-of-war with her pup.
