Megan Kahane is a recent law school graduate from the University of North Carolina School of Law (Pending Bar Admission). She is passionate about family law and is dedicated to serving as a fierce and compassionate advocate in family law matters. Megan is excited to support clients as a zealous advocate inside and outside the courtroom.

Megan was born and raised on Long Island and moved to North Carolina in 2019 for law school. Megan received her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The State University of New York at Old Westbury. During college, Megan served as president of the Accounting Society while working as a math tutor for middle school and high school students and as an administrative assistant at a large law firm.

Megan attended the University of North Carolina School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor. While in law school, Megan dedicated over 1,100 hours to pro bono work. Her work included representing children as a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem to advocate for the best interests of the child. Additionally, Megan had the opportunity to participate in UNC Law’s Domestic and Sexual Violence Clinic. While in the clinic, she had the opportunity to represent clients seeking a domestic violence protection order.

Megan also interned at the district attorney’s office in two counties. During her internships, Megan had the opportunity to work with domestic violence victims/survivors daily. Megan spent her final semester as an intern at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina. During law school, Megan was on the executive board of multiple student organizations, including serving as the vice president of the Carolina Public Interest Law Organization and the Pro Bono Coordinator for Law Students Against Sexual and Domestic Violence.

Megan understands the difficulty of the family law process and the unique challenges of each client’s situation. Megan is committed to practicing empathy with every client to ensure that they feel that their concerns are heard and their needs are met.

In her free time, Megan enjoys spending time with her friends and family, binge-listening to true crime podcasts, and exploring new places.
